Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babbler

 A species of bird in the family Timaliidae native to South-East Asia is the rusty-cheeked scimitar babbler (Erythrogenys erythrogenys).

The species is olive-brown on the sides of the face, head, thighs, and flanks, with rusty coloring above. Mostly, the abdomen is white. The sexes are similar. In a scimitar shape, the beak is long and decurved. From the Himalayas to Myanmar, the rusty-cheeked scimitar babbler is found. It inhabits subtropical or tropical humid lowland forest environments and subtropical or tropical humid montane forest at altitudes of up to 2600 m.

The bird feeds primarily on the surface of the forest and in the low canopy, creating small groups. Insects, grubs and seeds include food ingredients. Calls consist of a fluttering, mellow whistle.
