Brown Bullfinch

Of the true finch family, Fringillidae, the brown bullfinch (Pyrrhula nipalensis) is a species of insect. Bhutan, China, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Vietnam are situated here. Temperate woodland and subtropical or tropical wet montane woodland are its natural habitats.

A comparatively small 16.5 cm (6.5 in) bird with a grayish head, nape, and breast is the brown bullfinch. Nuts and native conifers are part of its diet.

The brown bullfinch, sometimes shy and difficult to track, is a rare resident of hilly forests. Adult grey in the upper half, white in the lower part, with a grey-washed breast, a black tail, a black forecrown, and black wings, a large pale panel close to the shoulder. A much simpler juvenile, without the black forecrown. Seen in the profile, it looks short-faced and long-tailed.
